Who We Are
Meet the MattressRecycling.ca Leadership Team. We are young, proud Canadians doing our part and helping implement recycling initiatives, locally, nationally and internationally. Our core team hails from diverse and successful backgrounds in business, Olympic competition, public service, environmentalism and entrepreneurship.
Fabio was born and raised in Vancouver, with an environment-first attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. He founded Student Yard Works in 2006, which has shown remarkable growth in sales and clientele since its inception and is a proud member of the Canadian Franchise Association. In 2005, Fabio cycled across Canada to bring awareness and successfully raised $20,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Vancouver. With Fabio’s determination, work ethic and natural leadership he brought together a close team to form Mattressrecycling.ca, which has now saved over 1,900,000 cubic feet of space in our local landfills. Fabio continues to strive towards having the most sustainable and environmentally sound businesses.
Zac Plavsic is a Canadian Olympian competing most recently in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in windsurfing. In 2008, Zac realized his dream of being an environmental leader while co-founding Mattressrecycling.ca with two close friends. He has also been an athlete ambassador to the David Suzuki foundation and the Climate Project Canada. Zac shows sincerity, perseverance and an ability to inspire and motivate everyone, applying all the dynamics of an experienced Olympian. Through his world travels he has and will continue to help spread new environmental movements throughout different countries around the globe.
Trent Robillard and Marcia Davidson were partners in the Mattressrecycling.ca startup team and contributed to making it what it is today. Both Trent and Marcia are now working in different careers in Canada and abroad.
